Rwanda Strengthens Public Accountability Through 30-Day Repayment Rule

On 2 November, Rwanda’s government announced that public servants responsible for the loss of government funds or property would be required to repay the losses within 30 days. No overall financial recovery target or implementation budget was disclosed. The policy may increase demand for public-sector audit, risk management, governance and compliance services.
